The University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG) actively seeks the commercial exploitation of research results. For this purpose, the UMG has established two subsidiaries: the MBM ScienceBridge GmbH and the Institut für anwendungsorientierte Forschung und klinische Studien GmbH (IFS).

Moreover, the Division of Technology Transfer of the University of Göttingen serves as point of contact for researchers with questions on the transfer of knowledge and technology and the founding of a company from within the University.
